At The Emerald, sustainability isn’t an initiative — it’s our inheritance. Through clean energy, smart conservation, and mindful living, we’re building a hotel experience that’s lighter on the environment, and richer in meaning.
Solar & Green Space:
Our solar journey began with a simple question: what if clean energy could improve the way our guests use our spaces? What followed changed more than just our power source — it transformed one of our favourite parts of the hotel.
The garden, which once felt too hot during the day, is now comfortably shaded by solar panels that power key operations. They do two things at once: generate renewable energy and keep the space cooler, turning it into an outdoor area guests can enjoy even at midday.
Energy Recycling:
Hotel cooling systems release tremendous heat, and instead of letting it escape into the environment, we’ve transformed it into something purposeful. By capturing and repurposing this heat to provide hot water throughout the hotel, we reduce our dependence on conventional heating methods and reduce our footprint on the planet.
Water Conservation Treatment:
Water is one of Mumbai’s most precious resources, and instead of relying entirely on municipal supply, The Emerald draws from its own underground borewell and processes this water through an advanced filtration and softening plant.
Nearly all of our non-drinking water comes from this sustainably managed source, dramatically reducing municipal dependence while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
